The procedure to assign a conditional action to a rent arrears policy is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Rents > Configuration > Arrears Policy. The Arrears Policy window is displayed.
- Select a rent arrears policy from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Arrears Policy field. By default the list is filtered to show Current arrears policies. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations

- Click on Conditions. The Conditions tab is activated.
- Select an existing node as the branch for the new action.
- Click on New Yes Action or New No Action, as required. The Action window is displayed.
- Using the suggested Action drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the conditional action e.g. issue an initial reminder to the tenant.
- Using the Action Outcome drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the conditional outcome e.g. initial reminder communication despatched.
- Using the Generic case type drop-down field, identify the classification of generic case that will be automatically launched at the point of confirming the action, either manually or via a scheduled event, ready to steer all related activities

- Multi-select the required attributes for the action by activating the tick boxes provided. An explanation of each available attribute is summarised in the table below.
- Click on Confirm
3. The new action node appears in the graphical view, prefixed with the action type i.e. Y or N.
- Click on Save.

1 The Search Arrears Policy field will match against any element of the policy name.
2 Only those Generic case type options linked to the Rent Account entity will be available for selection.
3 System validation rules verify the integrity of the action prior to adding the record.

This option is not permitted where additional display fields have been linked to the action for confirmation by the end user i.e. attributes of the asset or asset characteristics.
