To configure a communication email service

The procedure to configure a communication email service is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Communication Engine > Configuration > Communication Configuration. The Communication Configuration window is displayed.
  2. Click on Email. A list of existing email servers is displayed, categorised by company.
  3. Click on New Server.
  4. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this email server is relevant.
  5. Enter the Description of the email server into the field provided i.e. the name by which it is most commonly known.
  6. Enter the name of the SMTP Server into the field provided i.e. the email server.
  7. Enter the Account name used to connect to the SMTP server together with the corresponding Password. For security purposes the password is hidden from view.
  8. Enter the Port number for the SMTP server into the field provided.
  9. Where TLS / SSL level data security and integrity is required, activate the tick box provided.
  10. Enter the Number of permitted automatic attempts for email transmission. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement this value.
  11. Enter the Minimum delay required (in minutes) between automatic transmission attempts. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement this value.
  12. Click on Save. The new email server is displayed in the alphabetical list, underneath each associated company 1.


Note

1 To amend the details of an existing email service, expand the company heading, select an associated server (or type its name into the Search Server field) and repeat steps 4 through 12. To remove an existing email service, select the email server in the same way and click on Remove Server (system validation rules ensure that any associated queues must first be redirected to an alternative server). To clone an existing email service (i.e. to create a similar copy), select the email service and click on Clone.
