The procedure to configure a communication Twitter service is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Communication Engine > Configuration > Communication Configuration. The Communication Configuration window is displayed.
- Click on Twitter. The Twitter tab is activated.
- Click on New Twitter Account
1. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this Twitter account is relevant

- Enter a Description of the Twitter account into the field provided i.e. the name or customer engagement focus area by which it is most commonly known.
- Click on Request Access Token. The Twitter authentication protocol window is displayed, ready to approve Civica Cx Housing for access to the housing organisation's 'business identity' account.
- Enter the Twitter handle (@username) and corresponding password credentials for the housing organisation's 'business identity' account into the fields provided.
- Click on Sign In. Once authenticated, the Twitter tab returns to current focus and the Username, User access token and User access token secret fields are automatically populated, establishing an open communication channel between the two systems.
- Click on Save. The new Twitter account entry is added to the alphabetical list, underneath the associated company heading 2.
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.
Note
1 Upon first access, all fields are automatically activated ready for data entry; hence the New Twitter Account button is inactive.
2 To amend the details of an existing Twitter service, expand the company heading, select an associated account (or type its name into the Search field) and repeat steps 4 through 9.
