The procedure to apply version control to a task path workflow is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > System > Cases and Tasks > Task Path Creator. The Task Path Creator window is displayed.
- Expand a module heading from the alphabetical list and select an associated task path definition, or enter its name into the Search Task Paths field. By default the list is filtered to show Current task path definitions. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- With the Details tab activated, all historical task path definition variants are displayed in the Version History summary table, confirming the assigned status: Draft, Pending, Live or 'Blank' (indicating that the set expiration period has elapsed).
- Click on Path. The Path tab is activated.
- Click on New Version. The New Version window is displayed, ready to create a new 'draft' workflow structure
2.
- Enter a Description for the new task path workflow variant into the field provided
3.
- Use the Comment field to add contextual information in support of its operation and functional characteristics.
- Click on Save. The descriptive reference for the new task path workflow is displayed in the Version drop-down field, and the status is automatically set to Draft; the building block components and inter-related connections established for the latest variant are mirrored in the design area, ready to apply all required workflow changes at the end user's discretion.
Note
1 The Search Task Paths field will match against any element of the task path definition description.
2 A task path definition can only contain one 'draft' workflow structure; hence where that variant type already exists, the end user will need to affirm deletion of the original instance.
3 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each task path workflow variant is unique for the effective period.
