To view the hierarchical cost centre dependencies

The procedure to view the hierarchical cost centre dependencies is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Configuration > Cost Centres. The Service Charge Cost Centre window is displayed.
  2. Select a cost centre from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Cost Centres field. By default the list is filtered to show Current cost centres. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Dependents. The Dependents tab is activated, with the Child Cost Centres summary table revealing all cost elements that have been cascaded down to other cost centre records  1. Certain fields are worthy of special note and are captured in the table below 2.
  4. Click on Close.


Tip

1 By default, all child cost centres are displayed in alphabetical order; to aid in identification and analysis, rows can be reordered by clicking on any of the available headings.

Note

1 The Search Cost Centres field will match against any element of the cost centre description.

2 A subset of fields are visible by default; additional fields can be revealed or hidden via the Menu option.


Field

Description

Cost centre

The name of the child cost centre containing a cascaded cost element.

Cost element

The name of the cascaded cost element.

Apportionment

The percentage rate used to calculate the cascaded cost element value i.e. the portion of the overall charge allocated to the child cost centre.

Effective from

The date on which the child cost centre dependency came into effect.

Effective to

The date beyond which the child cost centre dependency expires; a blank field means the dependency link between parent and child cost centres will be continually valid.
