To view the service charge schedule for a cost centre

The procedure to view the service charge schedule for a cost centre is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Configuration > Cost Centres. The Service Charge Cost Centre window is displayed.
  2. Select a cost centre from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Cost Centres field. By default the list is filtered to show Current cost centres. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Schedule. The Schedule tab is activated.
  4. Using the Period drop-down field, select the desired financial period to filter the cost element breakdown included in the schedule. A list of all matching service charges is displayed in the Service Charge Schedule summary table 1. Certain fields are worthy of special note and are captured in the table below 2.
  5. Furthermore, a summation of the cost element charges is displayed as headline figures, calculated separately for Apportioned Costs (the cascaded charge components allocated to this cost centre) and Fixed Costs (the flat rate fees applicable to this cost centre).
  6. Click on Close.


Tip

1 By default, all service charges are displayed in alphabetical order, by cost element; to aid in identification and analysis, rows can be reordered by clicking on any of the available headings.

Note

1 The Search Cost Centres field will match against any element of the cost centre description.

2 A subset of fields are visible by default; additional fields can be revealed or hidden via the Menu option.

Cost element

A list of all cost elements linked to the cost centre record.

Element type

The classification of each cost centre element i.e. Apportioned, Fixed Charge or Sinking Fund.

Balancing charge brought forward

The amount of surplus or deficit balance brought forward from a previous charging period.

Original estimated cost

The estimated charge for each cost element, as derived through a calculation scenario.

Adjusted estimated cost

The estimated charge for each cost element, as derived through a calculation scenario, and taking into account any applied adjustments.

Actual cost

The final 'true' charge levied for each cost element.

Balancing charge to carry forward

The amount of surplus or deficit balance to be carried forward into the next charging period.
