To define the relationship sharing matrix

Parent Previous Next

Social housing applicants who are part of the same household can be more effectively matched to suitable properties based on their different relationship types, with these being used to define the practicality for bedroom sharing. Partners and spouses are routinely identified for sharing but age thresholds can also be set for sibling sharing opportunities and restrictions.

The procedure to define the relationship sharing matrix is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Relationship Sharing. The Relationship Sharing window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Relationship Sharing. All fields are activated ready for data entry and the matrix labels are populated with all relationship types effective on the system.
  3. Enter a Description for the relationship sharing matrix into the field provided 1.
  4. Using the Company drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this relationship sharing matrix is relevant, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  5. Choose an Effective from date for this relationship sharing matrix i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  6. Choose an Effective to date if the relationship sharing matrix is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the matrix will never expire.
  7. Double-click on a matrix cell matching a desired sharing opportunity. The Relationship Sharing window is displayed, revealing the relationship types matching the selected matrix intersection.
  8. Activate the Sharing Allowed tick box provided.
  9. Enter the Maximum Age value, as required, into the field provided i.e. the age threshold above which sharing is not permitted. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  10. Enter the Maximum Age Difference, as required, into the field provided i.e. the age gap threshold above which sharing is not permitted. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  11. Click on Confirm. The relationship sharing intersection is denoted by an activated tick box.
  12. Repeat steps 7 through 11 to define additional sharing opportunities.
  13. Click on Save 3.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.

Note

1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new relationship sharing matrix is unique.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

3 To amend the details of an existing relationship sharing matrix, select a matrix description from the alphabetical list or enter its name into the Search Relationship Sharing field. By default the list is filtered to show Current relationship sharing matrices. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations. Only a limited number of fields can be updated once a record has been created.
