The procedure to define recurrent rules for a task component building block is as follows:
- Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To configure the workflow structure of a task path definition, To add a communication building block to a task path workflow and To add a form building block to a task path workflow. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
- With the Recurrence Rules window displayed, configure all parameter fields to determine the frequency and duration over which a task component building block should be repeated.
- Using the Recurrence calendar drop-down field, select the calendar that reflects the required frequency for the recurrent task.
- Using the Recurrence frequency unit drop-down field, select an appropriate interval parameter for the recurrence period e.g. Minutes, Days, Weeks, Months.
- Enter the Recurrence frequency period value into the field provided i.e. the Recurrence frequency unit multiplier
1. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- To prescribe a fixed iteration cycle, enter the Number of occurrences into the field provided; the Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required. Proceed to step 10.
- Alternatively, using the Duration unit drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the recurrence cycle e.g. Minutes, Days, Weeks, Months.
- Enter the Duration period value into the field provided i.e. the Duration unit multiplier
2. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- To define one or more rules that will be validated for each iteration of the recurrence cycle, click on Define Condition
3. The Condition Criteria window is displayed, ready to compile the qualifying rules. This requisite step is covered separately in the topic Understanding the advanced statement builder.
- Where the defined recurrence cycle can be interrupted for a specific task component building block, activate the Rule override permitted tick box provided.
- Click on Confirm. All recurrence rules are assigned to the task component building block.
Note
1 By way of example, if a two day recurrence cycle was required, a Recurrence frequency period of '2' would be inserted, coinciding with a Recurrence frequency unit of 'Days'.
2 By way of example, if the recurrence cycle was to extend over four weeks, a Duration period of '4' would be inserted, coinciding with a Duration unit of 'Weeks'.
3 Any condition that is no longer required can simply be cleared by clicking on Remove Condition.
