The procedure to define additional attributes for a materials catalogue is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Materials > Configuration > Internal Part Catalogue. The Internal Part Catalogue window is displayed.
- Select a materials catalogue from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Categories field. By default the list is filtered to show Current catalogues and their associated categories. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Attributes. The Attributes tab is activated.
- Click on Add Attributes To Catalogue. The Add Attributes To Catalogue window is displayed.
- To identify an applicable Attribute via the bulk selection window: (a) Click on the adjacent spy-glass icon (
) - The Select Attributes to Add to Catalogue window is displayed, revealing all custom defined part code characteristics
2; (b) Activate the tick box against a subset of attributes to be used in the classification of catalogue items; (c) Click on Add to transfer the chosen entries to the right ('required') pane, or Add All to transfer all displayed records, irrespective of tick box status
3; (d) Click on Select - A concatenated list of the chosen attributes is displayed in the corresponding field.
- Using the Data type drop-down field, select the desired format to match the range of attributes selected - Date and Time, Date Only, Decimal, Integer, Text, Time Only, True or False
4.
- Choose an Effective from date for this attribute subset i.e. the date on which it came into effect for the materials catalogue
5.
- Choose an Effective to date if the attribute subset's inclusion within the materials catalogue is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the link will remain in perpetuity.
- Click on Save. The selected attribute entries are displayed in the Attributes Assigned To Catalogue summary table.
- Repeat steps 4 through 9 to ascribe further attribute subsets to the same materials catalogue, each reflecting a consistent data type.
Notes
1 The Search Categories field will match against any element of the catalogue title or associated sub headings.
2 The returned results can be refined further by entering a component of the attribute description into the dynamic search field provided.
3 In the same way, use the options Remove and Remove All in conjunction with the associated tick box fields to transfer asset records out of the right ('required') pane.
4 It is important to only group together attributes where the applicable data type is identical.
5 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
