The procedure to create a new materials catalogue is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Materials > Configuration > Internal Part Catalogue. The Internal Part Catalogue window is displayed.
- Click on Add Catalogue. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Enter the Catalogue title into the field provided

- Use the Comments field to add any contextual information relevant to the scope and purpose of the materials catalogue.
- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies applicable to this materials catalogue, or choose the All option, as required

- Choose an Effective from date for this materials catalogue i.e. the date on which it came into effect

- Choose an Effective to date if the materials catalogue is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means it will never expire.
- Click on Save. The new materials catalogue entry is displayed in the hierarchical list.
Tip
1 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all catalogue entries.
2 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.
Note
1 System validation rules ensure that the title entered for each new materials catalogue is unique for the effective period.
2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
