To add a contact group to a segmented campaign audience

In the vast majority of cases, the use of segment criteria alone will be sufficient to identify the desired cohort of contact groups in preparation for a targeted campaign programme. However, on occasions it may be required to include additional contact groups outside of the derived subset, and these may be added manually to the audience segment on an ad hoc basis.


The procedure to add a contact group to a segmented campaign audience is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Campaigns > Configuration > Campaign Configuration. The Campaign Configuration window is displayed.
  2. Select a campaign definition from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Campaign field. By default the list is filtered to show Current campaign definitions. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All 1.
  3. Click on Audience 2. The Audience tab is activated, revealing a list of all contact groups currently matched to the campaign through the segment criteria.
  4. Click on New Contact / Group. The Contact Group Search window is displayed 3.
  5. Enter sufficient contact group details into the search fields provided and click on Search. The Contact Group Search Results window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
  6. Activate the Select tick box against each row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria; click on View Members to verify all current members of a highlighted contact group.
  7. Click on Save. Each additional contact group is appended to the Audience summary table and assigned a Manually added status, with individual group members displayed in the Name column.


Note

1 The Search Campaign field will match against any element of the description.

2 At least one segment must be linked to the campaign definition before an audience can be compiled and additional contact groups appended to it.

3 The primary focus of the search window - contact groups or contacts - is determined by the Audience Type linked to the campaign definition.
