A contractor can be associated with any number of contracts provided they are professionally qualified to carry out the work. Within the terms of the contract, parameters attributed to the contractor manage the number of open work orders that can be awarded to them at any one time, based on the number of jobs or the total order value.
The procedure to view contracts associated with a contractor is as follows:
Field Group |
Description |
Details |
This tab stores the name of the contractor, the contract description, the effective companies, the appointment mechanism supported by the contractor (e.g. on-line diary system) and the default cost appointment (e.g. All to first task, Evenly, Percentage proportion). |
Parameters |
This tab sets minimum and maximum order values that the contractor is able to fulfil within the terms of the contract together with how many concurrent jobs can be active (by order value or number of jobs). |
Pricing |
This tab controls the pricing and inspection rate charges that are permitted against a Schedule Of Rates (SOR) plus any exceptions that are permitted under the terms of the contract. A pricing rule needs to be defined before the contract can be linked to a work order and only one rule can be effective at any one time. |
Definition |
In setting up a contract, rules can be applied in the repair contract definitions to specify the nature and scope of the work that can be carried out by the contractor. Multiple contract definitions can co-exist but only one definition can be effective for a single contract at any one time. Only contracts with an effective definition will be available for selection to carry out a works order task. |
Rules |
Whilst not mandatory, rules can be defined to inform the award process for a contract. |
Activity |
This tab provides a summary of the progression of works orders, quotes, inspections and invoices linked to the contract. |
Note
1 The Search Contractors field will match against any element of the contractor name.
