To update income and employment records for a contact

The procedure to update income and employment records for a contact is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the contact 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Contact Details. The Contact Details window is displayed for the current contact.
  4. Click on Income. The Income tab is activated.
  5. Click on New Income and Employment. The Income & Employment Details window is displayed.
  6. Using the Source drop-down field, select the income source parameter appropriate for the contact (e.g. Employed, Income Support, Job Seeker's Allowance, etc.).
  7. Use the Amount field to enter an income value for the contact. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  8. Enter the Position of the contact under the terms of their employment (e.g. Care worker, Shop assistant, etc.).
  9. Using the Status drop-down field, enter the current employment status of the contact (e.g. Employed, Self-employed, Unemployed, etc.).
  10. Where a contact is currently employed, use the Employer field to record the name of their current employer.
  11. Using the Employment type drop-down field, select the appropriate parameter value to reflect their full time equivalent working status (e.g. Full time, Part time).
  12. Use the Comments field to add any contextual data that is relevant to this record of employment.
  13. Choose an Effective from date for this record of employment i.e. the date on which the income source came into effect 2.
  14. Choose an Effective to date where a future change of circumstances is already known.
  15. Click on Confirm. The new income source for the contact is displayed in the Income and Employment Details summary table.
  16. Click on Save.


Note

1 The search facility will automatically return all possible matches for both first name and last name once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached..

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
