To update an assigned user account within a group

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to update an assigned user account within a group is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Security > Access Rights > User Group Details. The User Group Details window is displayed.
  2. Expand a parent group heading from the alphabetical list (where appropriate) and select an associated group, or type the name into the Search Groups field. By default the list is filtered to show Current groups. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. With the User Group Details window displayed, revealing a list of all assigned users in the summary table, double-click on a row matching the user to be updated. The Assign Users window is displayed.
  4. Activate the Responsible tick box provided, where applicable, to reflect the required status of the assigned user account 2.
  5. Amend the Effective from date for this assigned user, as required i.e. the date on which the user membership became active 3.
  6. Amend the Effective to date to automatically deallocate the assigned user on a specific date in the future; a blank field means the assigned user will remain a group member in perpetuity.
  7. Click on Confirm 4. The applied changes to the assigned user are reflected in the summary table.
  8. Click on Save.

Note

1 The Search Groups field will match against any element of the group name.

2 Where this option has already been activated for the assigned user, it cannot be updated; instead an alternative user would need to be displayed and the attribute transferred.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

4 Only one assigned member can be nominated as 'responsible' for the group; where an existing member already has this status the end user will need to reaffirm one or the other.
