To unlock a user account

Where an end user exceeds the number of incorrect password attempts stipulated within the system preference Lock user after this number of failed logins, their account is immediately locked, pending subsequent intervention by the product administrator.


The procedure to unlock a user account is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Security > Access Rights > User Details. The User Details window is displayed.
  2. Select a user account from the alphabetical list or type their name into the Search Users field. By default the list is filtered to show Current users. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. The user status icon () hover text will indicate that the account is currently Locked 2.
  4. Click on Unlock User.
  5. The user can now access the system with their current user name and password.


Note

1 The Search users field will match against the Full name of the user and not their User name.

2 An account is automatically locked when the user exceeds the predefined number of failed login attempts.
