To modify assets within a service charge group

The procedure to modify assets within a service charge group is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Configuration > Groups. The Service Charge Group window is displayed.
  2. Expand a functional unit heading from the alphabetical list and select an associated service charge group, or type its name into the Search Groups field. By default the list is filtered to show Current groups. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Assets. The Assets tab is activated, revealing all assets linked to the service charge group in the summary table.
  4. Activate the Selected tick box against each asset to be modified using the same group membership characteristics.
  5. Click on Update Assets 2. The Update Group Assets window is displayed, revealing all characteristics common to the chosen subset 3.
  6. Where a fixed percentage of the group charges should be applied to all assets in the selected subset, as opposed to an equal share, ensure the Fixed apportionment tick box is activated and enter the Percentage apportionment value in the corresponding field. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  7. Amend the Comments field, as required, to reflect any contextual information that is relevant to the asset subset modifications within this service charge group.
  8. Amend the Effective from date for this asset subset, as required i.e. the date on which the group membership changes came into effect.
  9. Amend the Effective to date, as required, to automatically deactivate the asset membership on a specific date in the future; a blank field means their membership will never expire.
  10. Click on Save. The proposed changes are applied to the asset records, as shown in the summary table.
  11. Repeat steps 4 through 10 to modify further asset subsets.


Note

1 The Search Groups field will match against any element of the service charge group description.

2 This option is only activated in the instance where at least one asset record has been Selected using the tick box provided.

3 Any characteristic values that differ across the selected assets will be removed.
