Any number of asset alerts can be set to notify the end user about information pertinent to the asset which will not only help them to provide the best service but also make them aware of potential safety considerations. For ease of use, all alert types are displayed in the same place and each is allocated a severity; such alerts are displayed not just within the asset record itself but also within any contact or contact group record to which it is linked. Depending on the severity assigned to the alert, warning messages will be triggered at regular intervals, and these must be acknowledged by the end user before further processes can be undertaken. All types of alerts can be catered for on the system e.g. construction material alerts can be created for assets where asbestos is present; structural safety alerts can be created for assets that have been affected by subsidence.
The procedure to create asset alerts is as follows:

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 Asset alerts are custom parameters that can be created and maintained by the end user.
3 Alerts categorised as 'High with confirmation' will automatically trigger notification messages at regular intervals; the acknowledgement frequency is determined by the system preference No of hours to retain user acknowledgement of alerts with confirmation.
4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
5 Once created, the details of an alert can be displayed at a glance by clicking on the matching row in the header pane summary table.
