The procedure to view an asset hierarchy is as follows:
- Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address

- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon (
).
- Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
- Click on Hierarchy. The Hierarchy tab is activated, revealing a list of all hierarchies to which the asset is linked.
- Select the desired hierarchy name in the alphabetical list. The Graphical view pane reveals the position of the current asset relative to the root (top level) asset and all associated parental assets. Click on a section level pointer icon (
) to collapse or expand the section and all related sub-sections 2.
Note
1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 By default all hierarchical sections are displayed fully expanded.
