To facilitate the transfer of meaningful stock condition survey data onto individual asset records, the Component field is used to capture a specific focus area from the stock condition survey e.g. Roof Structure, Gas Fired Central Heating, etc., and can be thought of as providing the sub-element detail.
The procedure to create a new stock condition component is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Asset Management > Configuration > Configure Components. The Stock Condition Configuration window is displayed.
- Select an element record from the hierarchical list, or type its name into the Search for Stock Conditions field. By default the list is filtered to show Current stock condition focus areas. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All
1.
- Click on New Component. The Element field is automatically populated with the name of the selected record, and all adjacent fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Enter a Description for the stock condition component into the field provided e.g. Roof Structure, Gas Fired Central Heating, etc.
- Using the Asset groups drop-down field, multi-select all prescribed property classifications applicable to the operating boundaries of the stock condition component, or choose the All option, as required i.e. Independent, Internal, External, Non Dwelling
1.
- Using the Assessment types drop-down field, multi-select all property evaluation methods applicable to the stock condition component, or choose the All option, as required e.g. Asbestos, NHER, NROSH, Servicing, etc.
- Choose an Effective from date for this new stock condition component i.e. the date on which the component came into effect
2.
- Choose an Effective to date if the stock condition component is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the component will be continually valid.
- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this stock condition component, or choose the All option, as required.
- Click on Save. The new component heading appears underneath the relevant element in a hierarchical structure.
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.
Note
1 The Search for Stock Conditions field will match against any focus area included within the hierarchical element structure.
2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
