To add a capping rule to a service charge group

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to add a capping rule to a service charge group is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Configuration > Groups. The Service Charge Group window is displayed.
  2. Expand a functional unit heading from the alphabetical list and select an associated service charge group, or type its name into the Search Groups field. By default the list is filtered to show Current groups. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Rules. The Rules tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Capping Rule. The Group Capping Rule window is displayed.
  5. Using the Capping rule drop-down field, select the rule to be applied to cost elements within the service charge group.
  6. Using the Rent charge types drop-down field, multi-select all parameter values for which this capping rule is applicable, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  7. Choose an Effective from date for this service charge group capping rule i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  8. Choose an Effective to date if the capping rule is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the rule will be continually valid.
  9. Click on Save. The new capping rule is displayed in the summary table.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.

Note

1 The Search Groups field will match against any element of the service charge group description.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
