To view the service charge schedule for an asset

The procedure to view the service charge schedule for an asset is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
  4. Click on Service Charges. The Service Charges tab is activated, revealing a list of all service charge groups to which the asset is linked in the Service Charge Groups summary table.
  5. Double-click on the row matching the service charge group to be analysed. The Service Charge Group window is displayed.
  6. Click on Schedule. The Schedule tab is activated.
  7. Using the Service charge calendar period and Rent charge type drop-down fields, select the desired financial period and cost element charge classification respectively to filter the figures included in the schedule. A list of all matching service charges is displayed in the Service Charge Schedule summary table 1. Certain fields are worthy of special note and are captured in the table below 2.
  8. Click on Close.


Tip

1 By default, all service charges are displayed in alphabetical order, by cost element; to aid in identification and analysis, rows can be reordered by clicking on any of the available headings.

Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 A subset of fields are visible by default; additional fields can be revealed or hidden via the Menu option.


Field

Description

Cost Element

A list of all cost elements linked to the asset record.

Element Type

The classification of the cost centre element i.e. Apportioned or Fixed Charge.

Balancing Charge Brought Forward

The amount of surplus or deficit balance brought forward from a previous charging period.

Original Estimated Cost

The estimated charge for the cost element, as derived through a calculation scenario.

Adjusted Estimated Cost

The estimated charge for the cost element, as derived through a calculation scenario, and taking into account any applied adjustments.

Actual Cost

The final 'true' charge levied for the cost element.

Balancing Charge To Carry Forward

The amount of surplus or deficit balance to be carried forward into the next charging period.
