The procedure to issue keys for an asset is as follows:
- Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address

- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon (
).
- Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
- Click on Keys. The Keys tab is activated, revealing a list of all key movements recorded against the asset in the Asset Keys summary table.
- Click on Issue Keys. The Asset Keys window is displayed.
- Enter sufficient contact or contact group details into the search fields provided and click on Next. The Asset Keys window is displayed, revealing a corresponding list of contacts and contact groups.
- Highlight the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria.
- Click on Next. The Asset Keys window is displayed.
- Enter an Issued date into the field provided i.e. the date on which the keys were released to the contact or contact group

- Using the Issued reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to match the circumstances under which the keys were released e.g. Inspection, Repair Works, Replacement Set, etc.
- Enter the No of sets of keys issued to the contact or contact group using the field provided. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- Where the Return date is known, enter a value into the field provided

- Use the Comments field to add any contextual data that is relevant to the key management record.
- Click on Confirm to store the record or Back to amend the details.
- Click on Save.

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 Enter dates using the calendar (
) icon, or type in the values directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY).
