All resources available to applicants through a housing organisation are categorised as Organisation Assets, Non-Organisational Assets or Services. Within each configurable resource category, an end user is able to combine similar resources into logical groups - known as subtypes - and then define the characteristics and attributes of each using custom data fields. For example, a housing organisation may offer a range of personal development training opportunities to tenants, fulfilled at different venues by numerous training organisations over varied course durations. A services-based resource subtype of 'Personal Development Training' could therefore be created and linked to the data fields of, say, 'Start Date', 'Duration', 'Course Tutor' and 'Venue'. In contrast, the characteristics of Organisation Assets are pre-configured and do not form part of the resource subtype creation process.
The procedure to define a resource subtype parameter value is as follows:
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.
Note
1 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each new resource subtype is unique.
2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
3 To amend the details of an existing resource subtype, expand the category heading, select an associated subtype value (or type its name into the Search Subtypes field) and repeat steps 6 through 8.
