To define an allocation band parameter value

Parent Previous Next

A banding system is used as a method of grouping together applications on an allocations list, based on the awarded housing need priorities. Typically, bands are designed as broad priority categories and awarded to applications based on a more detailed breakdown of need criteria, although their precise deployment is at the discretion of the end user e.g. High, Medium, Low or Gold, Silver, Bronze priority bands.

The procedure to define an allocation band parameter value is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Allocation Band. The Allocation Band window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Band. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  3. Enter a Description for the allocation band into the field provided 1.
  4. Enter the Points Range numeric values into the fields provided i.e. to define the minimum and maximum points priority thresholds for the band. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the values, as required.
  5. Choose an Effective from date for this band i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  6. Choose an Effective to date if the band is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the band criteria will be continually valid.
  7. Click on Save 3.

Note

1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new band is unique for the effective period.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

3 To amend the details of an existing band, select an entry from the alphabetical list (or type the name into the Search Allocation Bands field) and repeat steps 4 through 7. By default the entries are filtered to show Current bands. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
