To create a valuation entry for an asset

The procedure to create a valuation entry for an asset is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
  4. Click on Valuation/ EPC. The Valuation/ EPC tab is activated.
  5. Click on New Valuation. The Valuation window is displayed.
  6. Using the Type drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value to reflect the valuation category applicable to the asset e.g. Market Value, Fair Value, etc.
  7. Using the Method drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value to denote the calculation technique used in the asset valuation e.g. Comparable Method, Repayment Method, Investment Method, Residual Method, Cost Method.
  8. Enter the valuation Amount into the field provided. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  9. Select the Valued by organisation using the spy-glass icon () i.e. the name of the association or group by whom the valuation was conducted. The Search Group window is displayed.
  10. Enter sufficient details into the contact group fields provided and click on Search. The Select Group window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
  11. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria. The name of the contact group is displayed in the corresponding field.
  12. Choose an Effective from date for this asset valuation i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  13. Choose an Effective to date if the asset valuation is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the valuation will be fixed in time.
  14. Click on Confirm. The new figure is displayed in the Valuation summary table.
  15. Click on Save.


Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
