To create an energy performance certificate for an asset

The procedure to create an energy performance certificate for an asset is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
  4. Click on Valuation/ EPC. The Valuation/ EPC tab is activated.
  5. Click on New EPC. The EPC window is displayed.
  6. Enter the Certificate date using the calendar icon (), or type in the value directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. the date on which the certificate was awarded.
  7. Enter the energy performance certificate Reference number into the field provided.
  8. Using the Current EER drop-down field, select a parameter value to indicate the current energy efficiency rating of the asset, in accordance with the government's Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP).
  9. Using the Potential EER drop-down field, select a parameter value to indicate the potential energy efficiency rating of the asset, if improvement measures detailed on the certificate are implemented.
  10. Using the Current EIR drop-down field, select a parameter value to indicate the current environmental impact rating of the asset i.e. the graded amount of CO2 that is emitted each year.
  11. Using the Potential EIR drop-down field, select a parameter value to indicate the potential environmental impact rating of the asset, if improvement measures detailed on the certificate are implemented.
  12. Select the EPC by organisation using the spy-glass icon () i.e. the name of the association or group by whom the certificate was compiled. The Search Group window is displayed.
  13. Enter sufficient details into the contact group fields provided and click on Search. The Select Group window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
  14. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria. The name of the contact group is displayed in the corresponding field.
  15. Choose an Effective from date for this asset energy performance certificate i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  16. Choose an Effective to date for the asset energy performance certificate i.e. the date on which it expires.
  17. Click on Confirm. The new certificate is displayed in the EPC summary table; click on the expansion level pointer icon () to reveal the row detail.
  18. Click on Save.


Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
