To create a new standard template

The procedure to create a new standard template is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Communication Engine > Communication > Standard Communication. The Standard Communication Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Std Template.
  3. Using the Company drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this standard template is relevant.
  4. Enter the Template Name into the field provided 1.
  5. Using the Communication Method drop-down field, select the desired output channel for this standard template (Letter, Email or SMS).
  6. Choose an Effective from date for this standard template i.e. the date on which it came into effect 1.
  7. Choose an Effective to date if the standard template is to be time bound; a blank field means the template will never expire.
  8. Click on Save. The new standard template is displayed in the alphabetical list, underneath each associated company 2.


Tip

1 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all standard templates.

Note

1 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

2 To amend the details of an existing standard template, expand the company heading, select an associated template (or type its name into the Search Standard Templates field) and repeat steps 3 through 8.
