The procedure to create a new standard template is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Communication Engine > Communication > Standard Communication. The Standard Communication Maintenance window is displayed.
- Click on New Std Template.
- Using the Company drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this standard template is relevant.
- Enter the Template Name into the field provided

- Using the Communication Method drop-down field, select the desired output channel for this standard template (Letter, Email or SMS).
- Choose an Effective from date for this standard template i.e. the date on which it came into effect

- Choose an Effective to date if the standard template is to be time bound; a blank field means the template will never expire.
- Click on Save. The new standard template is displayed in the alphabetical list, underneath each associated company

Tip
1 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all standard templates.
Note
1 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
2 To amend the details of an existing standard template, expand the company heading, select an associated template (or type its name into the Search Standard Templates field) and repeat steps 3 through 8.
