The procedure to create a new campaign definition is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Campaigns > Configuration > Campaign Configuration. The Campaign Configuration window is displayed.
- Click on New Campaign
1. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Enter a Description for the campaign definition into the field provided

- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this campaign definition is relevant, or choose the All option, as required

- Using the Category drop-down field, select the parameter value to reflect the desired focus of the campaign definition e.g. Events, Marketing, Personal Development, etc.
- Using the Audience Type drop-down field, select the relevant target audience subset for the campaign definition i.e. Contact or Contact Group.
- Multi-select the required attributes for the campaign definition by activating the tick boxes provided. An explanation of each available attribute is summarised in the table below.
- Enter the Maximum Audience integer value into the field provided i.e. to limit the number of potential recipients for the campaign. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- Enter the Audience Percentage into the field provided (a decimal between 0 and 100) i.e. to set the required minimum number of respondents by percentage. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required

- Select the required Survey Template for the campaign, where applicable, using the spy-glass icon (
). The Survey Template Search window is displayed.
- Enter a question form template name into the dynamic search field provided
4. All possible matches are returned in the Search Results summary table.
- Double-click on the row matching the desired question form. The name of the selected question form appears in the Survey Template field.
- Use the Notes field to add contextual information in support of the campaign purpose and derivation.
- Enter the Launch Date using the calendar icon (
), or type in the value directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. the date on which the campaign goes live.
- Enter the Close Date using the calendar icon (
), or type in the value directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. the completion date set for all campaign activities.
- Click on Save. The new campaign definition is displayed in the alphabetical list and the status set to Planning.
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.
Note
1 Upon first access, all fields are automatically activated ready for data entry; hence the New Campaign button is inactive.
2 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each campaign definition is unique for the effective period.
3 The additional calculated fields Positive Response Number and Negative Response Number are used as a mechanism for tracking the success of the campaign.
4 The field will operate as a dynamic search function and match against any element of the question form template name based on the successive characters entered.
