To create a new allocations suspension type

Parent Previous Next

There are many scenarios where an offer of housing could be withheld, such as prevailing rent arrears, or where the grounds for refusing a previous offer are considered unreasonable and therefore the application is suspended for a set period of time. Such suspensions can be categorised using different parameters and applied in accordance with housing organisation policy.

The procedure to create a new allocations suspension type is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Appeals and Suspension Types. The Allocation Appeals and Suspensions window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Suspension Type. All fields are activated ready for data entry and the Type classification is automatically set to Suspension.
  3. Enter a Description for the new allocations suspension type into the field provided 1.
  4. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this allocations suspension type, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  5. Using the Generic case type drop-down field, select the classification of case to be launched when a suspension of this nature is initiated, as appropriate.
  6. Using the Application status reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding the suspension status being assigned to the application 2.
  7. Choose an Effective from date for this allocations suspension type i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  8. Choose an Effective to date if the allocations suspension type is to be reviewed on a specific date, or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the classification will be continually valid.
  9. Click on Save. The new allocations suspension type is displayed in the alphabetical list 4.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 System validation checks ensure that the description entered for each new allocations suspension type is unique for the effective period.

2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Application Status Change Reasons.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

4 To amend the details of an existing allocations suspension type, select an entry from the alphabetical list (or enter its name into the Search Appeals and Suspensions field) and repeat steps 3 through 9. By default the list is filtered to show Current suspension types. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations. Only a limited number of fields can be updated once a record has been created.
