As the variations in required repairs work templates may be only minimal, it is possible to clone existing templates - retaining all the attributes and configuration settings for the applicable priority, delivery type, focus area, etc. - and apply the required changes to the new copy, thus saving time and effort.
The procedure to clone a repairs work template is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Work Template > Configuration > Configure Work Templates. The Work Templates window is displayed.
- Expand a Category heading and select a repairs work template from the hierarchical list, or type its name into the Search Template field. By default the list is filtered to show Current templates. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations

Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.
2 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all repairs work templates.
Note
1 The Search Template field will match against any element of the repairs work template name.
2 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each repairs work template is unique for the effective period.
3 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Work Template Category.
4 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Repair Type.
5 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

By default the list is filtered to show Current templates. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
7 Steered entirely by the end user, a reference number convention must be predefined for the Work Template Reference entity.
