For non-organisational assets and service-based resources, the attributes and characteristics - known as resource subtypes - are completely user-defined. Any number of parameter fields and data types can be created, before linking them through to individual resource types in any combination. This flexibility in creating resource records ensures that all relevant information is captured in a consistent and comprehensive way, with active resource fields appropriate to the match list process held in the same location. This aspect of functionality is not relevant to organisational assets, as those attributes are held separately in the designated Characteristics tab.
