To view individual task dependencies for a generic case

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to view individual task dependencies for a generic case is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select Generic Case Task as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Task ID as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The Generic Case Task Details window is displayed.
  3. Click on Related Tasks. The Related Tasks tab is activated, revealing the Predecessor Tasks and Child Tasks summary tables, containing those inter-related tasks within the overall workflow structure where a 'parent' or 'child' dependency has been forged 1. Certain fields are worthy of special note and are captured in the table below 2.

Tip

1 By default, all dependent tasks are sorted chronologically by their actual start date (most recent at the top); to aid analysis, rows can be reordered by clicking on any of the available headings.

Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start and end date ranges, category, description, company, status) to ensure that the correct generic task is returned; an alternative Search by category of Generic Case may be selected to extend the available search fields.

2 Use the summary table Menu option to hide or reveal additional columns of information.
