To post the transactions held in a data import batch

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to post the transactions held in a data import batch is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > System > File Import and Export > File Import and Export. The File Import and Export Batch Details window is displayed.
  2. Expand an import type subheading from within the nested status structure and select an associated batch reference from the numerical list (or type a matching attribute into the Search File Import and Export Batches field). By default the list is filtered to show Open batches. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Created, Imported, Part Posted, Posted, Cancelled or All 1.
  3. Click on Post 2. The end user is asked to affirm the operation before the batched import records are posted live to the database; the number of successfully posted entries is confirmed on the header pane. To uphold data integrity, outstanding errant records identified through system validation import rules will be excluded 3.

Note

1 The Search File Import and Export Batches field will match against any element of the import type description or batch reference number.

2 It is only permitted to post a data import batch where the status is set to Imported or Part Posted.

3 Data import discrepancies arising from payment transactions only will be managed by posting the values to the suspense ledger code, pending further analysis.
