To define lookup values for a support provision task outcome

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to define lookup values for a support provision task outcome is as follows:

  1. Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To define a task outcome for a support provision classification. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
  2. Expand the Support classification heading and select an outcome from the alphabetical list (one configured as data type Lookup), or enter its name into the Search Outcome Types field. By default the list is filtered to show Current outcome types. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on New Lookup 2. The New Lookup Value window is displayed.
  4. Enter a Description for the custom lookup value into the field provided 1 3.
  5. Choose an Effective from date for this custom lookup value i.e. the date on which it came into effect 4.
  6. Choose an Effective to date if the custom lookup value is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means its inclusion within the outcome type will be maintained in perpetuity.
  7. Click on Confirm. The proposed entry is displayed in the Lookup Values summary table.
  8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 to add further lookup values to the support provision task outcome.
  9. Click on Save.

Tip

1 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all custom lookup values.

Note

1 The Search Outcome Types field will match against any element of the support provision task outcome description.

2 This option is activated only in the instance where a 'lookup' outcome type is selected.

3 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new custom lookup value is unique for the support provision task outcome within the same effective period.

4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
