To define lookup values for a question element

Parent Previous Next

On occasions, the recording of a customer or end user response to a CRM script question may require a discrete set of possible values that are specific to a unique scenario and as a general rule are not in common usage for other system lookups. In such circumstances, a defined list of custom values can be created for the element node and restricted to the completion of this question during a live customer interaction i.e. they do not affect parameter sets elsewhere in the system.

The procedure to define lookup values for a question element is as follows:

  1. Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To define the attributes of a user question element or To define the attributes of a script question element. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
  2. Click on Define Lookup Values. The Define Lookup Values window is displayed.
  3. Enter the label for the New Lookup Value into the field provided.
  4. Click on Add New Lookup Value. The new parameter value is displayed in the Lookup Value Labels summary list.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add further lookup values to the custom list 1.
  6. Click on Confirm 2.

Note

1 To remove a custom parameter value, highlight the label in the summary list and click on Remove Lookup Value.

2 When the script question element is revealed during a live customer interaction, only the custom parameter values linked to that question will be available for selection i.e. they are not combined with any other values stored elsewhere.
