Parent Previous Next

The procedure to create a new bank branch is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Rents > Configuration > Bank Branch Setup. The Bank Branch Setup window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Bank Branch 1. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  3. Using the Bank name drop-down field, select a parameter value appropriate for the branch e.g. Barclays, Halifax, NatWest, Santander, etc.
  4. Enter the Branch name into the field provided 2.
  5. Select the corresponding address for the bank branch using the spy-glass icon (). The Branch Address Search window is displayed.
  6. Enter sufficient address details into the search fields provided and click on Search. The Branch Address Search window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
  7. Activate the Select tick box against the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter different criteria; click on Confirm. Alternatively, click on New Address to create a new address for the branch, not previously held.
  8. Enter the Branch sort code into the field provided i.e. the unique six digit identifier for the bank and branch combination.
  9. Enter the Branch telephone number into the field provided.
  10. Enter the Branch email address into the field provided.
  11. Choose an Effective from date for this bank branch i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  12. Choose an Effective to date if the bank branch credentials are to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the bank branch will be continually valid.
  13. Click on Save 4. The sort code of the new branch is displayed in the numerical list underneath the Bank name heading 5.

Note

1 Upon first access, all fields are automatically activated ready for data entry; hence the New Bank Branch button is inactive.

2 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each branch is unique.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

4 The Created by and Created date fields are automatically populated with the name of the end user creating the bank branch and current system date respectively.

5 To amend the details of an existing bank branch, select a branch sort code from the alphabetical list (or type its code into the Search Branch Sort Code field) and repeat steps 3 through 13. By default the list is filtered to show Current bank branches. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
