The procedure to complete a generic form instance offline is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Forms > Management > Form Queue. The Form Queue window is displayed, revealing a list of all generic form instances to which the end user has some degree of ownership. By default the list is filtered to show Current form instances. An alternative progression status filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: All, Created, Issued, Partially Completed, Completed, Error, Cancelled or On Hold.
- Double-click on the row matching a form instance to be completed offline. The Form Definition window is displayed, revealing all inherent field elements and applied styling of the form instance.
- Using the Menu option, choose Export to offline form
1. A local HTML copy of the form is automatically saved to the default Windows Downloads folder, and with the prescribed name Form
2.
- Once exported, the generated form can be opened in a standard web browser, ready for completion, with all field elements adhering to those operational characteristics and validation rules defined within the source form template.
- Click on Save to store progressive changes to the form responses in the local copy; click on Submit to publish the finalised form back to the live database
3.
Note
1 To employ this facility, an end user account must first be ascribed the API User attribute.
2 Where a file of the same name already exists in the destination folder, the new export form will be annotated with an incremental suffix counter.
3 A form can only be submitted once all field element validation rules have been satisfied, and furthermore only where all mandatory responses have been completed.
