To clone a rent charge for an asset

The procedure to clone a rent charge for an asset is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
  4. Click on Rent Details. The Asset Rent Details window is displayed.
  5. Click on Charges. The Charges tab is activated, revealing a list of all asset charges in the Charges summary table.
  6. Double-click on the row containing the specific asset charge to be cloned. The Asset Charges window is displayed.
  7. Click on Clone Charge. The Asset Charges window is populated with all the attributes of the source asset charge, preserving all associated elements.
  8. Using the Charge Type, Frequency and Calendar drop-down fields, ensure that the selected parameter values are still valid for this new asset charge and apply any required changes.
  9. Amend the Effective from date for this asset charge, as required i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  10. Amend the Effective to date for this asset charge, as required i.e. to specify the valid duration; a blank field means the charge will be continually valid.
  11. Click on Save 3. The cloned asset charge appears in the Charges summary table.


Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

3 The Base Value (non-adjusted charge amount) and the Actual Value (the amount to be charged at the selected frequency) are calculated automatically from the associated charge elements.
