To allocate a manager to a generic case classification

Parent Previous Next

One or more allocation rules can be defined across different company and classification combinations, as appropriate, to automatically steer the nomination of user accounts / roles with managerial responsibility for the progression of generic cases.

The procedure to allocate a manager to a generic case classification is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Generic Case > Configuration > Generic Case Types. The Generic Case Type Configuration window is displayed.
  2. Expand a category heading and select a generic case classification from the alphabetical list, or type its name into the Search Case Types field. By default the list is filtered to show Current case classifications. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Allocation. The Allocation tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Manager. The Default Case Allocation window is displayed.
  5. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this managerial allocation is relevant, or choose the All option, as required 1 2.
  6. Using the Manager (user) drop-down field, select the user account to whom managerial responsibility for matching generic cases will be assigned 3.
  7. Alternatively, using the Manager (role) drop-down field, select the desired role representing the subset of users from which managerial responsibility will be determined separately for each matching generic case.
  8. Choose an Effective from date for this assigned manager i.e. the date at which responsibility becomes active 4.
  9. Choose an Effective to date to automatically deactivate the assigned manager on a specific date in the future; a blank field means their responsibility for the generic case classification will remain in perpetuity.
  10. Click on Confirm. The assigned manager is displayed in the Allocation Manager summary table 5.
  11. Click on Save.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 The Search Case Types field will match against any element of the classification description.

2 Only those companies assigned to the generic case classification will be available for selection.

3 The subset of user accounts is compiled from those having Responsible status for any security group where the ascribed owners are identified as members.

4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

5 To remove the assigned manager, change the Effective to date to be in the past.
