The procedure to add a task to a generic case classification is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Generic Case > Configuration > Generic Case Types. The Generic Case Type Configuration window is displayed.
- Expand a category heading and select a generic case classification from the alphabetical list, or type its name into the Search Case Types field. By default the list is filtered to show Current case classifications. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Tasks. The Tasks tab is activated.
- Click on New Available Task. The New Available Task window is displayed.
- Enter a task description into the dynamic search field provided, or click on Show All Tasks to bypass the filtering option
2. All possible matches are returned in the Available Tasks summary table.
- Highlight the row matching the desired task definition to be included within the generic case classification
3.
- Choose an Effective from date for this record i.e. the date on which the linked task came into effect for this generic case classification
4.
- Choose an Effective to date if the link needs to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the link will never expire.
- Click on Confirm. The linked task is displayed in the Available Tasks summary table.
- Repeats steps 4 through 9 to add further tasks to the generic case classification, ready to be assigned to newly-created cases of this type, on an ad hoc basis.
- Click on Save
5.
Note
1 The Search Case Types field will match against any element of the classification description.
2 The field will operate as a dynamic search function and match against any element of the task description based on the successive characters entered.
3 Only those generic task definitions matching the underlying entity assigned to the classification type will be displayed; the filtered list will also include those tasks with no specified entity value.
4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
5 To amend the details of a linked task, double-click on the desired row in the Available Tasks summary table and repeat steps 8 and 9; to remove the assigned task, change the Effective to date to be in the past.
