The procedure to add a graphic to a generic form template is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Forms > Configuration > Form Definition. The Form Definition window is displayed.
  2. Expand an entity heading and select a generic form definition from the alphabetical list, or type its name into the Search Forms field. By default the list is filtered to show Current form definitions. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on Templates. The Templates tab is activated.
  4. Using the Select version drop-down field, choose the correct variant of the generic form template onto which a graphic will be inserted; all existing field elements are displayed in the design area. Otherwise, click on Create New Version to commence a new variant of the latest form template 2.
  5. Click on the Standard field heading. All custom field element options are revealed as discrete objects.
  6. Using the standard 'drag and drop' technique, transfer the Image (Static) Field object from the left-hand pane into the design area. The dynamic form controls will automatically reveal the permitted locations for the New Image Field element, denoted by rectangular-shaped placeholders 3.
  7. Click on the adjacent properties icon (). The Settings window is displayed, ready to configure the attributes of the image field element.
  8. Enter a unique identifier for the image field element into the Field name box provided 4.
  9. Enter a Label into the box provided i.e. the caption for the image field element, as presented to each end user with responsibility for completing a form instance.
  10. Where the image field element is to be augmented by contextual information, activate the Display help text tick box provided and enter the supporting content into the corresponding Help text placeholder.
  11. Where the potential exists for several images to be captured within the same form instance, activate the Repeating tick box provided.
  12. Where completion of the field element is Mandatory, activate the corresponding tick box provided.
  13. Enter the preferred Width and Height (in pixels) for each image managed through this field element.
  14. To attach a default graphic, click on Select Image. Browse to the intended image file using standard navigation techniques 5.
  15. Click on Open. A preview of the image is displayed for verification purposes 6.
  16. Click on Confirm. All defined attributes are assigned to the field element.
  17. Click on Save.

Note

1 The Search Forms field will match against any element of the generic form description.

2 Field element objects can only be transferred onto the design area once a form template version has been selected or created.

3 Choosing a location reserved for an existing form element will automatically readjust the field order.

4 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each field element is unique for the selected form variant.

5 One of three image file types are supported: JPG, PNG or GIF.

6 To detach the default image from the field element, click on Remove Image.
