Inspection rule management overview

Parent Previous Next

To deliver efficient 'right first time' repair maintenance it is important that the extent of a repair is fully understood and that the quality of the resulting work is carried out on time and to agreed quality standards. Thus, a pre inspection serves to inform an accurate works order instruction and a post inspection verifies the quality of work carried out. 'Work in progress' inspections ensure that the overall project is on track and any problems are detected in a timely manner. The end user has complete control over which order fulfilment processes require an inspection, and of which type. Whilst inspections can be raised manually, it is also possible to define one or more rules to trigger inspections automatically when certain order conditions are met. For example, an automatic inspection can be triggered when a works order value falls within a certain range. Alternatively, routine inspections may only be required for a percentage of works orders conducted, focusing on a target sample. Similarly, inspections may always be required for certain trades or contracts. Complementary rules can coexist with any combination of criteria to match the policies of the housing organisation and relevant safety standards.

Automatic inspection rules work in conjunction with pre inspections and post inspections only, and will be applied once the associated order has reached a certain status. An automatic pre inspection can be triggered under two scenarios: (1) a SOR associated with a works order task has a pre inspection flag set, which will create the pre inspection upon creation of the order, or (2) the order matches one or more inspection rules for pre inspection, which will automatically create the pre inspection upon selection of the contractor. An automatic post inspection can be triggered under two scenarios: (1) an SOR associated with a works order task has a post inspection flag set, or (2) the order matches one or more inspection rules for post inspection. In both cases, the post inspection will be created once the order reaches the status of 'completed'.
